Minnesota United is undefeated in five games in Colorado

Minnesota United will look to extend their unbeaten run to six games when they travel to Commerce City, Colorado, to face the Colorado Rapids on Saturday.

The Loons (7-2-3, 24 points) are second in the Western Conference, four points behind Real Salt Lake for the top spot, and have not lost since a 2-1 loss to Houston on April 13. has since achieved four wins and one draw.

Minnesota is preparing for a challenging week with two away games. After the match in Colorado, there will be a midweek clash with Los Angeles FC in California.

“Obviously playing at heights will be a factor now, but the good thing is we now have good team camaraderie to look at the guy next to you and get that extra push in communication or push that you need. ” said goalkeeper Dayne St. Clair.

Forward Tani Oluwaseyi has paced Minnesota with five goals in 12 games, while midfielder Robin Lod has nine assists in 11 games for the Loons.

The Rapids (6-5-3, 21 points) are sixth in the Western Conference. Colorado has points in just two of its last five (2-3-0) games entering Saturday after a 5-3 loss to RSL last weekend.

“Every game we create chances – what would I like to see in (our) attacks? More moments of that: the ability to sustain attacks, create even more chances (and) be more ruthless in some moments,” said Colorado coach Chris said Armas.

“We’re scoring goals, we’d like to continue that (and) defensively we’ve been pretty stingy for the most part.”

Forward Rafael Navarro leads all Rapids players with eight goals in fourteen games this season. Midfielder Djordje Mihailovic is the team leader with five assists in 13 games.

Saturday is the first of two meetings between the two sides. Colorado travels to Minnesota on September 28 to close out the season series.
