Indian pacer Siddarth Kaul signs short-term deal with Northamptonshire

Northamptonshire County Cricket Club has strengthened its bowling attack with the signing of Indian seamer Siddarth Kaul. The 33-year-old joins the team on a short-term contract for the next three matches in the Vitality County Championship.

Proven performer in first-class cricket

While Kaul has represented India in a handful of limited-overs matches, including three T20Is and three ODIs in 2018, his first-class experience is his biggest asset. He boasts an impressive record, with 286 wickets in first-class cricket at a phenomenal average of 26.44. His ability to take wickets in clusters is further highlighted by his 16 five-wicket hauls throughout his career.

Kaul’s arrival comes at an opportune time for Northamptonshire as their previous overseas player, Chris Tremain, has completed his four-match spell with the team. The Indian pacer is expected to fit seamlessly into Tremain’s role.

He has completed his domestic season in India where he has picked up some good form, so hopefully he will continue that with us.”

Kaul is immediately available for selection and could potentially make his debut for Northamptonshire in their upcoming match against Gloucestershire at Wantage Road on May 10.
