New York is coming off its second straight defeat after a 4-1 draw against FC Cincinnati 2 last Sunday. Midfielder Ibrahim Kasula scored his fifth goal of the season in the match and his twentye career MLS NEXT Pro goal. Kasule has scored 21 goals in all competitions, which ranks him third in franchise history alongside Stefano Bonomo.

Philadelphia Union II is currently in first place in the Eastern Conference and is coming off back-to-back wins against Huntsville City FC and New England Revolution II. Both Philadelphia and New York rank in the top five in MLS NEXT Pro in goals scored.
