After an animated celebration, DC co-owner Parth Jindal meets Sanju Samson and congratulates on World Cup selection: WATCH

Delhi Capitals chairman and co-owner Parth Jindal let his emotions flow as Sanju Samson was given out by the on-field umpires. The sacking of the Rajasthan Royals (RR) captain sparked a huge controversy with people questioning the standards of the referees in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season.

Samson led RR’s tricky chase of 222 against DC at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. The Rajasthan captain was batting on 86 when he pulled a Mukesh Kumar delivery and was caught very close to the long rope by Shai Hope. The TV replays could not make it clear whether the fielder had taken a clean catch and the hosts were given the benefit of the doubt.

Samson was on the receiving end when he was dealt out. He even had a heated argument with the referees, but ultimately had to leave the field. Meanwhile, DC co-owner Jindal was very animated about Samson’s dismissal.

But once the match concluded, Jindal met and greeted Samson and RR Manoj Badale on the sidelines of Kotla. The video of the meeting was shared on DC’s official address, which showed Jindal congratulating Samson on his World Cup selection.

“Our Chairman and Co-Owner, Parth Jindal, spoke to Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson and owner Manoj Badale at the Arun Jaitley Stadium last night after what was an exceptional cricket match. Parth also congratulated the RR skipper on his selection for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup,” the caption of the video read.

Samson’s departure left Rajasthan Royals in a tight spot but the team should still have won the IPL match against Delhi Capitals here, their head coach Kumar Sangakkara said.

“Regardless of that dismissal, we probably still should have seen that match,” Sangakkara said at the post-match press conference.
