Prince William makes rare comments on Kate’s recovery and reveals why children are ‘very angry’ with him

The Prince of Wales shared an update on his wife Kate’s health as he visited the Isles of Scilly during his overnight trip to Cornwall.

As Prince William, 41, arrived at St Mary’s Community Hospital, staff members asked how the Princess of Wales is doing as she continues preventive chemotherapy following her cancer diagnosis.

The father of three revealed that Kate is “doing well” adding that Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis are “very jealous” of his visit to the islands off the coast of Cornwall. Listen to his commentary in the video below…

As William met locals and businesses in St Mary’s Harbor earlier today, he admitted he wished he could stay.

‘My family is very upset, I am here without them’ he laughed. “TThe kids will kill me if I don’t go home later.”

It was William’s first visit to the Isles of Scilly since becoming Duke of Cornwall. It has long been rumored that the Prince and Princess of Wales spent the summer holidays with their three children at Tresco, where William spent his childhood holidays with his parents, Charles and Diana, and younger brother, Harry.

After ordering five pies for his royal entourage at On The Quay cafe, the future king revealed he had been making the most of Britain’s warm spring weather.

He further told them: “I said to the others, I can’t believe the islands today when you have weather like that, it’s just beautiful. Yesterday I was in the sea, which was good – I wore a wetsuit.”

During his engagement at St Mary’s Community Hospital, William heard from staff about the challenges of delivering healthcare on an island, including a story about how a baby was born in the air on the way to the mainland.

He was then briefed on plans for the hospital’s new integrated health and social care facility, which will be built on adjacent land owned by the Duchy of Cornwall. The expansion will provide twelve residential care beds, NHS hospital beds and a modern maternity suite.

As heir apparent, the prince receives an income from the Duchy of Cornwall – a portfolio of land, property and investments – which owns much of the Isles of Scilly and almost a third of its residential buildings.

On Thursday, William took part in a game of volleyball at Fistral Beach while speaking to local lifesaving organizations after visiting a Duchy of Cornwall housing development at Nansledan in Newquay.
