HELENA – With bull riding, barrel racing and old-fashioned family fun, Helena Hollow is hosting its first Mother’s Day Weekend Rodeo on Friday, May 10 and Saturday, May 11.

The gates open at 5:30 PM on both evenings. Although the show itself starts at 7:30 PM, guests are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy the festivities. While waiting, visitors can browse the offerings from craft vendors, enjoy food trucks and pony or mechanical bull rides.

According to one of Helena Hollow’s owners, Amy Griffin, the rodeo itself will feature a variety of events including saddle bronc, bareback, bull riding, steer wrestling, roping, team roping, barrel racing and breakaway. Throughout the night, an LED display wall provides instant replays of all the action.

“It’s our first (rodeo) ever,” Griffin said. “We are super excited to bring it to Helena.”

While planning the rodeo, Helena Hollow took the opportunity to host the event over Mother’s Day weekend.

Griffin said she personally doesn’t like being asked what she wants to do every Mother’s Day and that her family would rather surprise her with a fun outing. This contributed to the decision to offer a major event on Mother’s Day that the whole family can enjoy together.

“As a mother, I would much rather have my family plan something for me,” says Griffin. “We thought this would be a great way for moms to do something fun with their families over the holidays.”

Helena Hollow is an entertainment farm and event venue in Helena that hosts special events throughout the year. Although they are most known for their pumpkin patch, Helena Hollow also has a party barn petting zoo, a lakeside pavilion, and a Nerf gun course with obstacles.
