Harlequins have announced that former England scrum-half Danny Care has signed a new contract ahead of the 2024/25 season.

Care joined Harlequins in 2006 after playing for Leeds Tykes and has racked up 374 first-team appearances for the Premiership club.

The 37-year-old stands out as one of only three players who have surpassed 300 appearances for Quins. He holds the club record for the highest number of appearances and remains unmatched as the sole player to have scored over 100 tries for the team.

He was part of the side that clinched the Challenge Cup in 2011 and the Premiership titles in 2012 and 2021. Care captained the club during the 2015/16 and 2016/17 seasons, leading the team to the Challenge Cup final against Montpellier.

Care made his England debut in 2008 and has featured in 101 Tests for the side. He was part of the side that won three Six Nations titles including a Grand Slam in 2016 apart from featuring in the 2015 and 2023 Rugby World Cup squads.

“I’m excited to extend my contract with Quins for my 19th season at the Club,” he told the club’s official website.

“This is my home, I love everything about it, the rugby we play, our amazing fans, and the memories we have made together.

“It was an easy decision to sign the contract, we have a great group of lads who I love playing with, and we’re building something very special.

“We have the best fans in the world, and I can’t wait to pull on the Quarters for another season and run out in front of a packed Stoop.”

Harlequins are positioned fifth in the Gallagher Premiership table with nine wins from 16 matches.
