Hurricanes Select Didomenicantonio, Murphy in US Priority Draft

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey Club selected 2009-born forward Enzo Didmenicantonio and 2009-born goaltender Aydan Murphy in the fifth annual U.S. Priority Draft on Wednesday.

Didomenicantonio, 15, was selected in the first round with the 13th overall pick. The Los Angeles, CA product appeared in 62 regular season games with the Los Angeles Jr. Kings 14U team in 2023-2024 and recorded 102 points (45g-57a) and 56 penalty minutes. The 5’6, 135-pound forward led the Jr. Kings in scoring with a whopping 52 points, while also leading the team in goals. Didomenicantonio finished 20th in scoring in the 14U AAA competition.

He added six points (4g-2a) along with two penalty minutes in four postseason games. In 2018-2019, Didomenicantonio attended the Brick Invitational tournament in Edmonton. He collected four points (1g-3a) along with two penalty minutes in six games with the Western Selects.

Murphy, 15, was selected in the second round with the 35th overall pick. The Surprise, AZ product posted a 3.50 goals against average and a .878 save percentage at the Phoenix Jr. Coyotes 14U team during the 2023-2024 regular season. The 6’0, 150-pound netminder spent the 2022-2023 season with the Arizona Hockey Union 14U AA team, where he played in 10 games with a 5.31 GAA and an .864 SV%.
