Bison alone on top after round 2

The Harding men’s golf team improved on their record-setting performance on Monday with an even better team round on Tuesday in the NCAA DII Central/Midwest Regional Tournament in Edmond, Okla., shooting a 5-under 276 in Round 2 and moving two strokes ahead of Grand Valley State for the tournament lead with 9 over 551.

José Arzu and Sam Tandy both finished high on the leaderboard on Tuesday, both tied for 5th at 4-under 136. Arzu jumped into the top ten after another 2-under 68 included five birdies on the day. Tandy shot an even 70 in Round 2, sinking six birdies, bringing his lead in the tournament to 14 birdies.

Dennis Staykov He had his best round of the season, shooting up 28 spots in the rankings with a 4-under 66 to finish tied for seventh at 3-under 137. Staykov dropped six birdies and now has nine for the tournament.

Jose Peralta shot a 7-over 77 in Round 2 and is tied for 85th at 8-over 148. Finlay Cummings shot a 1-over 71 in Round 2 and is tied for 91st at 9-over 149.

The Bisons still lead the tournament field in birdies with 41 made.

Harding will look to capture their first regional title in program history as they tee off in the third and final round at 12:40 p.m.
