The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health is warning residents who plan to visit the Los Angeles County beaches below to avoid swimming, surfing and playing in ocean water:

BEACH AREA WARNINGS:

-Escondido Creek at Escondido State Beach

The entire swimming area.

-Mothers Beach in Marina Del Rey

The entire swimming area.

-Malibu Lagoon at Surfrider Beach

100 meters along the coast from the public toilets.

-Santa Monica Pier in Santa Monica

100 meters along the coast from the pier.

-Inner Cabrillo Beach in San Pedro

The entire swimming area.

-Marie Canyon Storm Drain at Puerco Beach

The entire swimming area.

-Sweetwater Canyon Storm Drain at Carbon Canyon Beach

The entire swimming area.

-Malibu Pier in Malibu

The entire swimming area.

These warnings were issued because bacteria levels in the last test exceeded health standards.

BEACH AREAS NOW CLEARED:

The warnings have been lifted for the following beach areas where recent sample results showed water quality levels within state standards:

-Ramirez Creek at Paradise Cove

-Santa Monica Canyon Creek at Will Rogers State Beach. Near Will Rogers Tower 18
