The Gloucester High School varsity softball team earned two wins this past week against Phoebus and Heritage high schools.

The Lady Dukes defeated the Phoebus Phantoms 13-1 at home last Thursday. Alivia Bruce threw a two-hitter and gave up only one run in the first inning. Autumn Cookson and Cameron Palas each had three RBIs in the game.

Cookson, Samantha Carlton, Grace Sinko-Vanliew and Alexis Dishman each contributed two goals for Gloucester. Cookson tripled in the second inning for two of her three RBIs. Palas added a long drive over the right field fence in center for a two-run home run. Palas’ home run in the second inning was her sixth of the year.

Heritage

The Lady Dukes defeated the Heritage Hurricanes 20-3 on Tuesday afternoon. Gloucester collected 17 hits while Palas led the way with four hits, including a double and four RBIs. Cookson contributed three hits, including two doubles and two RBIs. Kaia Hutton had two goals for three…
