Orlando Pirates head coach Jose Riveiro was delighted to get maximum points despite admitting it wasn’t the team’s best performance.

The Buccaneers made it seven straight wins in a row as a brace from Tshegofatso Mabasa sealed a 2-0 victory over Chippa United.

The Spanish tactician says getting the win was the highlight of this busy time of the season.

“The three points (was the highlight), we have a tight schedule. I think today it takes time to find rhythm in the first half,” Riveiro told SuperSport.

Usually in the last few games a bit slow, in the end we find space on our right, with many penetrations from Thabiso, the goal could have come early, but in the end we managed to open the scoring, what is not important goes to half time 0-0.

“I think that was the key in the match otherwise you might not know it if it takes a bit long but not our best performance but good enough to get the three points and make sure we continue with opportunities to achieve the goal we want to achieve.” what we are looking for now. So happy with the boys, excellent grades and results for us, so we’ll move on.”

“It’s good that we also responded well on our right side, we didn’t really use Rele (Mofokeng) in the first half, not in the second half.

“Anyway, the team was balanced, in control, we didn’t have any transitions, which is important. We did a fantastic job in set pieces, especially in defense against a team with long throw-ins and inn corners, on the whole taken a professional achievement.” I think we’ll go to the next one with three points.”
