Jerry Lawler is breaking his silence on the expiration of his WWE deal

According to reports this week, WWE Hall of Famer Jerry Lawler was no longer signed to the company under a full-time deal, and subsequent reports claimed that the legendary ‘King of Memphis’ was still part of the company under a WWE Legends deal.

Lawler was asked about his status during a conversation with PWInsider’s Mike Johnson, with Lawler revealing that his run in WWE is indeed over:

“Another thing that a lot of people are wondering about, my career probably ended with the WWE and that’s just one of those things that comes with dealing with all the things that happened with the stroke and it was my, my only Behind a sitting at the desk and commentating on a match again was extremely difficult.’ said Lawler.

Lawler enjoyed several stints with WWE dating back to 1992, with his run on commentary alongside Jim Ross in the vaunted Attitude Era, one of the greatest announcing teams in professional wrestling history. The Memphis legend has been struggling with health problems for several years. He suffered a stroke in 2018 and suffered a second ‘major’ stroke in 2023. Lawler also suffered a heart attack during a live episode of WWE Raw in 2012.
