Jalen Brunson has the second-highest points score in NBA playoff history

Jalen Brunson has the second-highest points score in NBA playoff history

Jalen Brunson reaches historic levels of scoring dominance for the Knicks in the NBA playoffs.

DraftKings Sportsbook told The Post that Brunson’s point total for Game 2 — set at 37.5 as of Wednesday afternoon — is the second-highest playoff number in DraftKings history.

The only higher total came on May 2, 2021, when Stephen Curry had a pregame point total of 38.5 (he finished with 39), with the Klay Thompson-less Warriors facing the Grizzlies in a play-in game.

Brunson’s player prop projection is also tied for the sixth-highest pregame point total in NBA history (since DraftKings began trading in 2016), including the regular season.

Brunson has surpassed his point total in five straight games entering the game against the Pacers at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday.

His run started when his projection was 28.5 in Game 3 against the 76ers, which he easily put away in a 39-point score in a loss in Philadelphia.

That’s Brunson’s lowest point production during this incredible five-game stretch, in which he has had four 40-plus point games since.

DraftKings told The Post that Brunson’s player props since the beginning of April are 11-3, which is an incredible streak for the Knicks superstar.

Interestingly enough, Brunson’s under 37.5 is the most employable player rack (-120) on DraftKings of the entire NBA prop market.

Gamblers think this is getting out of hand, but is it?

Brunson went 14-for-14 from the free throw line on Monday and has made 46 percent shooting in every game since catching fire after Game 2 against the 76ers.

Brunson also went just 1-for-4 from 3-point range in Game 1, leaving room for him to score more points through the Pacers’ porous defense.

Bet on the NBA?

Indiana has the worst defense of any team that reached the postseason.

As Brunson continues to climb into the top ranks of Big Apple athletes, the Knicks are favorites at home against the Indiana Pacers.
