CANYON, TX – West Texas A&M No. 3 Buffs and No. 4 Lady Buffs will defend their crowns this weekend on May 9 and 11 at the Lone Star Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The LSC Championship meet is hosted by Angelo State University at LeGrand Stadium at 1st Community Credit Union Field in San Angelo, Texas.

LSC CHAMPIONSHIP HISTORY
The Buffs and Lady Buffs are looking to four-peat this offseason after winning the past three straight LSC championships since 2020.



COMMENTS

  • Isaac Botsio qualified with Team Ghana for the Olympic Games in the 4×100. Botsio will compete in the 100m, 200m and 4×100 for the Buffs
  • Corsia Perry belongs to the top 3 in LSC in the 100m, 200m and 400m and is part of the 4×400 relay for the Lady Buffs
  • William Amponsah And Florance Uwajeneza are national leaders in the 10,000m and are 1st in LSC
  • Uwajeneza looks to defend the LSC title in the 10,000 and 5,000 meters

SCHEME

The multis will kick off first on Thursday at 12 noon. CT followed by the Hammer as the first field event at 3 p.m. with the 1500m running events starting at 6:30 p.m

Friday starts at 10:30 am. with the multis completing their final events before heading to the podium. The Discus will take place at 3 p.m. then the 800m at 6:30 p.m.
