Jalen Brunson leaves Game 2

Jalen Brunson has been on a tear in the playoffs, but now there are questions about the status of the Knicks’ star guard for the remainder of Game 2.

Brunson left his team’s game against the Pacers in the Eastern Conference semifinals late in the first quarter on Wednesday night. The team later announced that Brunson was questionable to return due to right foot soreness.

It is unclear when the injury occurred.

Brunson returned to the locker room after leaving the game. His father and Knicks assistant coach Rick Brunson then left the bench, with team president Leon Rose not in his seat for much of the second quarter.

Rick Brunson and Rose later returned while Jalen Brunson remained in the locker room.

Brunson had five points when he left the game.

Entering Game 2, Brunson had scored 40 points in four consecutive playoff games (he had 39 in the game immediately preceding that streak).

Without Brunson, the Knicks will clearly face an uphill climb.

But the team and the entire fanbase now hope that the injury is not serious.
