WATCH: Play-off to decide New Zealand’s Olympic Games opponents

A sudden death play-off between Indonesia and Guinea in the early hours of Friday will determine who will play New Zealand in their opening match at the Paris Olympics.

The play-off will take place in Clairefontaine, France, and will be streamed live to New Zealand viewers for free by FIFA+.

Indonesia finished fourth at the 2024 AFC U-23 Asian Cup, earning an intercontinental play-off against Africa’s Guinea.

The winners will join New Zealand, France and the United States in Group A at the Summer Olympics, which start on July 25, 2024.

The men’s football tournament at the Olympic Games

Men’s football at the Olympic Games is limited to players under the age of 23 (born on or after January 1, 2000), although each team can select a maximum of three players over the age.

Competition locations for the tournament are Paris, Bordeux, Décines-Charpieu (near Lyon), Marseille, Nantes, Nice and Saint-Étienne.
