Matthew Tkachuk and David Pastrnak throw and land huge punches in a heated fight!

With just over eight minutes left in the final period of Game 2 of the second round series between the Boston Bruins and the Florida Panthers, the rivalry stepped up a notch as the Cats scored their sixth total of the game.

With a five-goal lead, the Panthers were still celebrating Brandon Montour’s shorthanded goal and the striker gave a ‘Wooooo’ to captain Brad Marchand’s face. You can imagine he didn’t appreciate this. Montour even dared to mock Marchand with some licking jokes and faces, which only made matters worse.

A scrum broke out across the board, which was difficult for the referee to break up, although they eventually managed to do so.

However, when the referees came together to discuss the penalties, Matthew Tkachuk and David Pastrnak were close and clearly weren’t done insulting and arguing with each other.

Both players looked back and forth to the benches and seemed determined to fight. It was almost as if a deal had been made! Pasta even asked his head coach Jim Montgomery for his blessing.

Once back on the ice, the gloves came off and the mid-game fight took place at center ice.

Pastrnak and Tkachuk threw haymakers at each other and despite going down a few times, the Panthers’ superstar managed to deliver a solid knockout punch to the Bruins forward.

Pasta was visibly shaken, but went back in for more, absolutely furious that Tkachuk jumped him and threw a shot on the way down, before they were separated.

On the edge of their seats, fans in Florida went wild, especially Keith Tkachuk, who was excited by the altercation.

However, I can’t say the same about Mama Tkachuk…

What a series! The score is now tied at 1 and Game 3 takes place on Friday evening in Boston.
