Division IV

Classic 8, Rogers 0

The Vikings dominated both sides of the field and their significant lead in the third quarter turned into an 8-0 win over the Purple in a game that was called off due to weather. Rogers saw three different players score in the first quarter and the offense created a 5-0 halftime lead. The Vikings also put together a dominant defensive effort, penetrating the Purple offense, creating turnovers and moving the ball down the field quickly. David Rivera scored with 4:21 left in the third to make it 8-0 and shortly afterwards a lightning strike was observed nearby, halting the game. While the players sought shelter, officials and coaches from both teams met and Classical agreed to call the game there rather than wait for the weather so Rogers would not have to travel back to Providence to end the game . Rocky Ramsey Rogers led with three goals and Rivera scored two. Connor Hole Young, Nick Bodycoat And Max Martland had the other three goals for the Vikings. Classic goalkeeper Edward Galts did what he could to minimize the damage and finished his night with 12 saves.
