Shaquille O’Neal Gives Surprising Opinion on Nikola Jokic’s NBA MVP Win; Believes Shai Gilgeous-Alexander deserves it

The basketball world learned Wednesday that Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic has won the NBA MVP Award for the 2023-2024 season.

Thanks to a remarkable season, this incredible performance added a third MVP title to his career showcase.

However, Shaquille O’Neal expressed a different opinion on TNT’s Inside the NBA, where Jokic was interviewed after his win.

The legendary basketball player believed that Oklahoma City Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was more deserving of the MVP title.

“I want you to be the first to hear this from me, but I believe SGA (Shai Gilgeous-Alexander) should have gotten the MVP,” Shaq told Jokic, quickly adding, “This is by no means a small thing against you. .”

This statement did not sit well with NBA fans, especially those who supported the Nuggets. Multiple comments have been received from fans, especially from Region

Shaq continued to support his stance even after his initial announcement, noting, “Shai deserved the title.

Having finished second several times, I have done my best as second best, so I know what it feels like to resume the journey to the MVP title every season.

This is probably tough for him and I hope he uses this as motivation to win a well-deserved championship.”

In response to Shaq’s comment, Jokic kept his cool and replied with a chuckle, “Thanks Shaq, we don’t believe in passing judgment. So go ahead and voice your opinion.”

Nikola Jokić wins MVP, but Nuggets face playoff crisis

Nikola Jokic, at 29 years old, has a phenomenal career as an NBA champion, three-time MVP, six-time All-Star and five-time All-NBA player.

Many people see him as one of the greatest players, with a resume that stands shoulder to shoulder with that of LeBron James and Stephen Curry.

In this year’s MVP competition, Oklahoma City’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander provided stiff competition with his compelling performance and a powerful display of postseason dominance.

Nevertheless, Jokic’s powerful impact and efficiency on the field won over voters, making him a distinguished three-time MVP winner.

Gilgeous-Alexander showed exceptional scoring skills in the NBA regular season, averaging 30.1 points in each game, in addition to 6.2 assists, 5.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals.

However, the status of the Denver Nuggets’ leading player, “The Joker,” could take a hit if the team loses to the Timberwolves within four or five games. Jokic seemed completely perplexed and discouraged after their significant loss in Game 2 on Monday, and seemed unsure of how to recover.

If the Nuggets lose like this, Jokic’s ranking as the best in the league will be called into question like never before, and skeptics and critics will no doubt voice their opinions. The story of his career and its legacy will depend heavily on how he tackles this challenge next summer.
