UFC releases official fight poster for Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler

The UFC has released the official fight poster for Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler. The fight has been officially announced for June 29 and will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

McGregor hasn’t fought in the UFC since 2021, when he suffered a horror leg break against Dustin Poirier, but is now returning three years later. And as fight night draws closer, the UFC has released the official Fight Night poster and also stated that the welterweight fight will last five rounds.

McGregor has proven he is still the UFC’s biggest star despite his lengthy absence and recent poor form inside the Octagon, with ticket prices for the event skyrocketing. The cheapest tickets for the fight on resale cost more than €900.

But the Dubliner has had to give up cycling, one of his favorite training habits, after a road accident last year. The MMA star escaped with minor injuries after a car crashed into his bike while he was cycling near his home in Co Kildare in January 2023. McGregor said at the time that he ‘got away with his life’ after the car crashed into him as he cycled through the countryside.

The UFC star has revealed he hasn’t cycled since, something he did to and from training in California ahead of his trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier in 2021. He posted on his Instagram Story this week: “I’m still not went back after this on the bike.”

It remains unclear whether McGregor will move his training camp abroad ahead of his June 29 fight with Michael Chandler, but all of his preparations for the fight so far have taken place in Ireland.

However, it seems unlikely he will cycle 10 miles to training as he did for the Poirier trilogy fight, which he lost after suffering a horror leg fracture.
