Langley, BC – Vancouver FC will host Cavalry FC in the inaugural Canadian Premier League (CPL) “On Tour” series next month in Kelowna, BC

Vancouver FC President Rob Friend joined CPL Commissioner Mark Noonan and Kelowna Mayor Tom Dyas at Stuart Park Plaza in Kelowna on Wednesday afternoon to launch the “On Tour” series and the first match between the Eagles and announce the Cavalry. The series will see Canada’s top professional men’s soccer matches at neutral sites across the country for years to come as the League continues its mission to connect with fans of the Beautiful Game from coast to coast and expand the League to new communities. .

Vancouver will host Cavalry at Kelowna’s Apple Bowl on Sunday, June 16. The regular season game will kick off at 2:00 PM PT / 5:00 PM ET and will be played in lieu of the game previously scheduled for Sunday, June 16 at Willoughby Community Park. in Langley, BC The match will be broadcast as the TonyBet Match of the Week, broadcast on OneSoccer, the dedicated home of Canadian football.

Kelowna 2024 is supported by the City of Kelowna and the British Columbia Ministry of Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sports. The lead-up to match day will include several family-friendly events and celebrations across the Okanagan Valley, where VFC coaches, players and personalities will be on hand to make visits to local schools and participate in guest coaching opportunities at local clubs.

Festival-goers are invited to an official Kelowna 2024 kickoff event and a gameday tailgate, among other activities organized for all ages in the days leading up to the game. More details about the festivities will be announced by the CPL as they become available.

Vancouver FC season members wishing to purchase tickets for the match can do so through pre-sale starting today, Wednesday, May 8, via this link. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, May 10 via the Vancouver FC website, which can be found here.

The match marks a homecoming for VFC president and former striker friend of the Canadian men’s national team, who grew up in Kelowna. Friend was the first football player inducted into the Central Okanagan Sports Hall of Fame in 2022.
